The electrolysis procedure is a highly efficient way of achieving hair removal as it involves the use of electrical current. During this treatment, the electric current is applied in such a way that it destroys the hair follicles, thus enabling lasting longer-term results. This form of hair removal can be applied on any part of the body where hair needs to be managed.
While electrolysis is generally known for being an enduring hair removal procedure, there are certain follicles that may not respond to the treatments, and therefore still be able to produce hair. Despite its permanent credentials, this method is not 100% foolproof as some hair can remain. It is important to bear this in mind, as although the majority of the follicles will be wiped out, not all will necessarily be eliminated by electrolysis.
When it comes to electrolysis, there are three methods to achieve hair follicle destruction: galvanic, thermolytic, and blend. Galvanic electrolysis applies a direct electric current for its purpose, while thermolytic electrolysis works through heat; blend electrolysis is the combination of both.
During the process of electrolysis, extensive tissue is destroyed; however, there are techniques that can be used to minimize the associated discomfort. Applying a topical anesthetic prior to the treatment can help to numb the area, while a shortwave diathermy machine, generating high-frequency electrical waves, is also employed. This heat up the cells and boost comfort levels.
Although electrolysis has been known to work, it should be noted that it is not an immediate solution; the amount of times treatments are needed varies person to person. Some require only a few sessions, while others require many. Each appointment may differ in duration – depending on the circumstance of the individual receiving the treatment.
Following your treatment, it is necessary to protect your skin from the sun’s rays and replenish it with moisture. Exposure to harmful UV radiation can lead to skin irritation and impair the effectiveness of future treatments. Meanwhile, hydrating your skin has a soothing effect and helps to keep it supple.
All in all, electrolysis proves to be a highly reliable technique of hair elimination, which can be used on any bodily zone. It may take various sessions to deliver the desired end results, but these can turn out to be everlasting.
